Welcome to our first review on RV Life Style here in Whitney Texas. The Lake Whitney RV Park is a hidden gem off the beaten path with all the amenities you would want from an RV Park. We will list the current rates and facilities below. If you're a family, there is a ton of activities for the kids and also an adult lodge for peace and quiet. Located just outside of Whitney Texas, the town has all the things you are looking for on the road from Hardware to Groceries, it's all there in a quaint little western town. Local football is a hot commodity and if your a fan, its worth stopping in to feel the fans enthusiasm for their local Wildcats. The RV office has a cool theater as well where you can come and relax in an easy boy and watch a show. Something else I found interesting but did not know before arriving is, there is an Open Range Cowboy Church minutes away, I wish I had access to a review like this before arriving, I wouldn't have been disappointed that I missed this event.

Lake Whitney is part of the Thousand Trails system, which being new to this life style, I did not know about, however I am finding it very interesting and will do some more looking into on future posts. It looks like its a club or system of RV Parks that you can visit with a reservation, sounds interesting.

Here are the rates that we got when we arrived for our stay:

RV Camp Sites Pricing $45-53/night (plus tax and resort fee)

Cabin Rentals $96-150/night (plus tax & resort fee)

Found out some more information about Thousand Trails: Since 1969, Thousand Trails has welcomed generations of families at campgrounds across the country. Thousand Trails is one of the largest networks of RV resorts and campgrounds in North America, with over 80 locations in 22 states and British Columbia. They combine the beauty and relaxing atmosphere of a scenic nature preserve with the resort-style amenities and fun events and activities for the whole family to enjoy. They’re resorts and campgrounds are enjoyed by members and non-members alike.

2. Lake Conroe RV Campsite:
11720 Thousand Trails Rd.
 Willis, TX 77318

On our second stay on our epic 5 month tour of the southern US, I stopped in Lake Conroe RV Campsite. This site is located just north of Houston and has all the great local businesses and restaurants in the area. Onsite there is everything from tenting, cabins and your standard RV slots both with cement pads and without. The bath houses are numerous and clean, I found nothing broken and in good condition. The marina is the star of the show, a really nicely maintained marina, docks and fish cleaning station.

Another highlight was the pool area and the attached amenities for the kids. The pool is top notch with a Jacuzzi and cabanas complete with overhead fans and a TV, luxury. Directly adjacent to the pool is a huge jungle gym for the kids, a mini put for kids and adults alike and a tennis court in very good condition.

On the property is also a kids pond stocked with fish for the youngsters ready to catch their first monster fish.

Overall the location, property, staff and amenities on this property are great and my stay was very nice. I got out on the lake a couple times to burn up the water ways and check out the new pontoons on the wave runner, tons of fun.

Onto Galveston next, see you there. I will get the basic rates and post them below.
